Habitat and Geographic Distribution: Native to Sudan, Ethiopia and Eritrea. Found in juniper forests in mountainous regions.
Diet: Frugivorous. Feed on a large number of fruits and berries. Also eat some insects and occasionally small reptiles.
Reproduction: Monogamous species. Reproductive behaviour begins with increased vocalisations and chasing females from tree to tree. The female lays two eggs, incubation is performed by both sexes and lasts 21-23 days. Both parents take care of and feed the chicks. The young begin to fly at about 26 days of age.
Behaviour: Sedentary and territorial species. Both sexes defend the territory. Arboreal species, only coming down to the ground in order to drink water or for baths. Spend much of the day feeding, and at dusk they look for their favourite spot to rest.
