Reproduction:<\/strong> They are monogamous. The breeding season of these animals varies depending on environmental conditions, but normally occurs in Winter, Spring and Summer. They lay 3 to 5 eggs in tree cavities and the incubation period is 23 to 25 days. For 21 days, the chicks are completely dependent on their parents until they leave the nest when they fully develop their flight feathers 50 to 55 days after hatching. They reach sexual maturity around 2 \u2013 3 years of age.<\/p>\n

Distribution and Habitat:<\/strong> Australia. They live in open areas of low vegetation with trees and also in cities and areas of human cultivation.<\/p>\n

Behavior:<\/strong> Diurnal and gregarious, forming flocks with hundreds of individuals. However, when looking for food they tend to divide into smaller groups. At sunset, before retiring to sleep, these birds display acrobatic flights, which can reach speeds of 50 to 70 km\/h, and intense vocalizations. Their predators are falcons and other larger birds of prey.<\/p>\n
