Native to Africa, more specifically, south of the Sahara.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Diet:\u00a0<\/strong>Omnivore.\u00a0Varied diet: seeds, fruits, vegetables, insects, frogs, small snakes and small mammals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Reproduction: <\/strong>Oviparous. Lays up to 40 eggs that are laid in layers, but only the upper layer of eggs hatch. Incubation: 26-28 days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Behaviour:<\/strong> The helmeted guineafowl are excellent runners and can cover about 10 km per day. They are equipped with strong claws that, like chickens\u2019, are used rake the soil. Captive breeding is very difficult, the females tend to abandon their young.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Conservation status: <\/strong>Least Concern
